I am always looking for good deals when it comes to fill up the van, and every $5-10 bucks adds up quickly.

Here are three practical ways to save money on fuel, with real-life examples and tools we use ourselves while traveling.

1. Join Fuel Reward & Loyalty Programs

Many major gas station brands offer free loyalty programs that can save you a few cents—or even dollars—per gallon.

    Sign up and link your debit or credit card to earn savings at the pump. Pair it with participating grocery store rewards for stacked discounts. Shell is a very popular gas stations as well, once you have an account you can get p to $.25 cents per gallon.

Apps that track live gas prices by location can help you plan smarter refueling stops.
